WEB Aecon joint venture awarded steam generator replacement contract for three units at Bruce Nuclear

TORONTO -- Aecon Group Inc. (TSX: ARE) announced today that the Steam Generator Replacement Team (SGRT), a 50/50 joint venture between Aecon and SGT Inc., has been awarded a contract by Bruce Power L.P. to replace the steam generators at Bruce Nuclear Generating Station Units 3, 4 and 8.
The contract is valued at approximately $250 million and is expected to be completed by 2029. The work will be performed by SGRT, which has successfully completed the replacement of the steam generators at Bruce Nuclear Generating Station Unit 6.
The steam generators are a critical component of a nuclear power plant, transferring heat from the reactor core to the turbine generator. The replacement of the steam generators at Bruce Nuclear Generating Station Units 3, 4 and 8 is a major undertaking that will help to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of these units.
